Bring your experience, expertise, and heart to help protect, preserve, and amplify Queer Southern stories. Qreative Voices is an Atlanta-based nonprofit championing queer narratives—especially those rooted in the South—by putting resources directly into the hands of artists and moving bold new work toward the stage.
About Board Membership
Qreative Voices is seeking new Board members to help guide and grow our organization during an exciting period of expansion. As the fiduciaries and governing body of Qreative Voices, Board members provide strategy, oversight, and accountability, partnering with staff and volunteers who carry out day-to-day operations and programs.
Our work is grounded in a simple belief: Queer stories deserve more than a reading or a workshop—they deserve a full life onstage, supported with real investment in the artists creating them.
Our programs include:
Lavender Fest, our flagship queer performing arts festival, takes place each summer in Atlanta.
The Fairytale Grant, which awards $1,000 to support a production’s journey to the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival.
What Board Members Do
Board members help Qreative Voices thrive by contributing time, talent, and community reach.
Responsibilities typically include:
Governance & stewardship: uphold our mission, ensure strong financial oversight, and support thoughtful growth
Fundraising & resourcing: participate in giving at a personally meaningful level and help open doors to donors, sponsors, and partners
Ambassadorship: represent Qreative Voices in your networks and across the community
Program support: show up—attend events, celebrate artists, and help expand our impact
Committee work: lend your skills where they’re most effective (development, finance, marketing, community partnerships, governance, etc.)
Time commitment: 4 meetings per year + committee involvement with additional engagement around major events and fundraising moments. Board members are required to raise at least $2,000 each fiscal year.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome Board candidates who believe in queer art as cultural legacy, community care, and joyful resistance—especially those who understand the nuance of creating and sustaining queer space in the South.
We’re particularly excited to meet people with experience in:
Fundraising, development, or corporate partnerships
Finance, accounting, legal, or nonprofit governance
Marketing/PR, brand strategy, or audience development
Arts presenting, producing, festivals, or cultural programming
Community organizing, education, advocacy, or social services
HR, operations, or strategic planning
You don’t need prior board experience. If you’re collaborative, curious, and ready to help build something that lasts, we want to hear from you.
